WorkPrep Participant
@ Girls Who Code &
Pluralsight
During the summer of 2024, I got the opportunity to participate in a career readiness program with Girls Who Code and Pluralsight.
Through this program, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Pluralsight employees on hands-on applications of the concepts we explored, including code reviews, giving and receiving feedback, career development planning, agile principles, and mock interviews.
Software Engineer Intern
@ Microsoft (Backend)
My second internship at Microsoft was an exciting one. Since I now knew what to expect, I came a lot more prepared. This summer my project was solely backend which was exactly what I wanted.
I was genuinely interested in my project which really motivated me. I grew a lot as a coder and got really good at problem solving. I also grew very close with my team and learned I have a knack for building team morale.
This internship solidified my passion for backend software engineering while highlighting how much more there is to learn.
Software Engineer Intern
@ Microsoft (Frontend)
My first internship with Microsoft was such a big learning experience for me. It was my first time working as a software engineer and my first time coding on a team.
I learned a lot about myself professionally as it was my first time in that environment. During this summer, I learned how to ask for help, how to communicate with my team, and how to make an impact in a short amount of time.
I also learned that I prefer working backend or fullstack rather than solely working on a frontend project.
Teacher’s Assistant
@ Girls Who Code
As a teacher’s assistant I was able to help give over 80 high school students an introduction to coding!
This was an amazing experience as I got to connect and have an impression so many on young students. Some of which I got to see go on to study computer science in college.
My experience working as a teacher’s assistant helped me develop my leadership skills and made me a better coder because I had to explain concepts to people of varying levels of experience and understanding.
