Today was the best day ever

Today was the best day ever! Let me tell you why. Soon after I woke up I got an email telling me that I won an award for a competition I participated in! My school had this competition for undergraduate research and all you had to submit was your best research paper. On a whim, I decided to submit a paper I wrote last spring about Candace Owens and I won! I came in second place and I am going to be rewarded with a money prize of $175.

Next, I went out to pick up my cap and gown as I’m graduating this May. Apparently today was the last day to pick them up and luckily for me, my school gives students their cap and gown for free! When I went to go pick it up, there was no line and they ended up giving me my tassel for free too which was a great surprise! Then as I was leaving, I bumped into my friend which is always a pleasure. After that, I went to the post office— where there was also no line— to return a dress I had ordered. It was a seamless experience and I was happy because I only had 2 days left to return the dress!

Then I spent the rest of my evening doing laundry; I went on a couple of trips this month and as a result I barely have any clean clothes left! Even though the task itself can be a bit overstimulating, the result is always worth it. I LOVE having clean laundry. I also made a pit stop to watch my friends tennis game.

Today was the best day ever, and it might not sound like it to anyone else, but it felt like it for me. We often end up dwelling too much on the things that didn’t go our way in the day, but if we assume it’s going to be the best day ever, things will manifest themselves to fulfill that. Thank you for reading :)
